Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home & Museum
Also known as Rock Ridge Farm, The Laura Ingalls Wilder House was the home of author Laura Ingalls Wilder from 1896 until her death in 1957. Each year, more than 30,000 fans from all 50 U.S. states and about 20 countries visit the famous Rocky Ridge Farm historic homes and museum in Mansfield, Missouri.

Douglas County Museum
Located in a Henry Wilson home, over 100 years old, this museum is a great showcase for Ava's history. Staffed by volunteers, it is upheld by members of the Douglas County Historical & Genealogical Society and financial support from book sales and donations.

Glade Top Trail
Mark Twain National Forest's Glade Top Trail is Missouri's only National Scenic Byway. The 23 mile trail weaves through narrow ridge tops above the surrounding rolling countryside. Travelers are treated to numerous scenic views that reach the Springfield Plateau to the northwest and south to the St. Francis and Boston Mountains in Northern Arkansas.

The Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association exists to record and preserve the integrity of the breed registry. It is the mission of MFTHBA to promote the horse through membership participation in expositions, fairs, horse shows, trail rides and other venues; provide beneficial services for members to enhance and encourage ownership of Missouri Fox Trotters; and generate growth of the breed through marketing, promotion, advertising and publicity of the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse.
